Interview: Jerome Baker Talks Recruitment, UF Commitment, Muschamp

A few weeks ago, the Gators snagged a commitment from highly touted Cleveland linebacker/running back Jerome Baker. Along with George Brown, the Gators now have two of the best players from the state of Ohio, which is quite a slap in the face to Urban Meyer.

Yesterday, I talked with Jerome about a variety of topics, including his recruitment, his commitment to Florida, his recruitment of other uncommitted players, Will Muschamp, the current Gator team, the aforementioned talented¬†pair of Gator commits¬†from the Buckeye state and more. As an added bonus, I’ve added highlights over some parts of the video (like I did with George Brown) to make a visual impact- to show those who may not be familiar with him yet exactly what we’re getting in Baker. (Side note about the highlights: a lot of them are of him at the running back position, but even though the Gators are mainly recruiting him as a linebacker, the athleticism and speed he shows on offense will make you salivate and dream about just how he can use it on defense.)

I’ve embedded the YouTube video below, and I hope you enjoy listening to it and getting to know Jerome Baker as much as I enjoyed talking to Jerome and putting it together.

  1. Excellent interview. Kinda hard to hear at times, but most of it was decipherable. I loved this kid’s attitude and can’t wait to see him in Orange and Blue.
