Underrated three star WR Isaiah Bond commits to Florida

After a lull the past couple months, the Gators are making moves with their 2022 recruiting class again, this time adding wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

247Sports credits Billy Gonzales (surprise, as he’s the wide receivers coach) as the primary recruiter for Isaiah Bond.

Don’t make the mistake of being fooled by Bond’s three star ranking in the 247 Composite rankings. Bond also holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Miami and Pittsburgh. Any one of those offers alone could be viewed as an anomalous offer, but added all up together, and it’s clear that several other high level Power Five schools see the same thing in Bond that Dan Mullen does: he can play.

Bond is labeled by some as an athlete, which speaks more to his versatility as an athlete than anything else. He could in theory play some defensive back if needed to. But most agree that he projects best as a wide receiver at the college level- and a very good one at that.

Here’s his Hudl tape.

As you can see from his high school film, he’s not the biggest receiver in this recruiting class, but with Nick Savage’s help, he could become more than big enough. He’s already got an impressive catch radius thanks to great ball skills and blazing speed. He’s likely going to be a legitimate plug and play deep threat receiver; if he can add similar levels of efficiency to the other routes on the tree, he could be a terrifying weapon in the Gators’ passing attack before too long.

With the addition of Isaiah Bond, the Gators’ 2022 recruiting class now consists of six members. That ranks 23rd in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, with six months to go until the Early Signing Period in December.
