As anybody who follows it knows, the recruiting world features an endless amount of change. Which is precisely why I created the Gators’ Recruiting Big Board page!
Here’s what’s happened in the last month:
RB DeMarckus Bowman’s odds up from 60% to 80%: Bowman loves Florida, and the Gators have begun rebuilding their Lakeland pipeline at the right time. Georgia may make a push, but he’s trending toward Florida these days.
WR Marcus Rosemy’s odds down from 25% to 5%: Coming out of Fort Lauderdale’s St. Thomas Aquinas made me think there was an outside shot for the Gators to land Rosemy, but he’s been so high on the Buckeyes lately that this feels like a pipe dream at best.
WR Leonard Manuel demoted from a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ prospect to a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ prospect: Because it’s a numbers game. Whatever. He’s still a top prospect at what will be a position of need, and he’s all Gator as of now.
QB Carson Beck’s odds down from 75% to 10% after his commitment to Georgia: Something weird is going on in Athens, GA, but that’s a story for another day. Anyway, I wouldn’t completely rule out Beck changing his mind again (he’s already decommitted once, from Alabama) but it’s best that Dan Mullen look elsewhere for a QB.
ATH Keyvone Lee’s odds down from 90% to 30% after his decommitment. Lee has said that he’s still considering Florida, and guys who decommit and make a point to say they’re still considering the school they decommitted from do sometimes recommit (see Jacob Copeland), so I’ll leave him at 30% for now.
DE Morven Joseph’s odds up from 50% to 95% after his commitment: The only way Florida loses him now is if Dan Mullen goes after several can’t-miss caliber defensive ends and he feels as though he’ll get lost in the shuffle.
DE Josh Griffis’s odds down from 95% to 35% after his decommitment: Everything that every Gator fan has said about Griffis being underranked as a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ remains every bit as true now that he’s decommitted. It’s also true that Florida is in play for several defensive ends who are even better than him, which is why he’s been dropped down to the “other interested recruits” section.
CB Jahquez Robinson’s odds down from 50% from 5% after his commitment to Alabama: It’s possible that Robinson may become overwhelmed if Nick Saban goes after a half dozen blue chip DB recruits, as he’s a very good, but not great prospect, but barring that, forget about him.
