Though he’s technically a safety- at least according to the recruiting services- he’s expected to play cornerback at the next level. As of publication, the letter of intent has not been officially received by Florida yet, though it’s expected to come in soon.

The way that Florida’s staff was able to make such a strong impression on Devin Moore in such a short amount of time is remarkable, even with being aided by Notre Dame’s staff falling apart, and even with Moore wanting to stay close to home. Moore visited Florida’s campus last weekend (even rocking the rare jersey combination of blue jersey on orange pants!) and made a great connection with new defensive backs coach Corey Raymond.
So, this is an excellent start to the recruiting aspect of the job for Billy Napier, Corey Raymond, Patrick Toney, and the rest of the staff. Here’s hoping this is just a launching pad.
Arguably by design, the Florida Gators’ 2022 recruiting class came apart at the seams in the wake of Dan Mullen’s firing. As the sun rose on Early Signing Day, the first major piece of Billy Napier’s transition class fell into place with Devin Moore.
Moore, a four star safety from Naples, FL/Naples HS, chose Florida over Notre Dame. He had long been committed to the Fighting Irish, but decommitted on the final day of November and re-opened his recruitment back up after Brian Kelly announced his stunning departure for LSU. New co-defensive coordinator Patrick Toney went after him hard, and this morning, officially pulled off the flip.
