The Florida Gators 2025 football schedule will look a lot like their 2024 schedule.
Almost identical, really. Well, no, not almost. It is identical.
It’s just inverted.
The Southeastern Conference unveiled the 2025 opponents for each football team today. And they didn’t appear to have put a whole lot of time and effort into it. The Gators’ eight SEC opponents will be the exact same eight opponents that they’re set to face this year.
The only difference between the Florida Gators 2024 schedule and 2025 schedule is that the locations are inverted. Florida will travel to Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Texas in 2024; they’ll host those same teams in 2025. On the other hand, Florida is set to host Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M in 2024; they’ll travel to those schools for road games in 2025.
Florida’s annual tilt with Georgia has also been a topic of conversation in recent years. The two schools agreed to extend their current contract with the city of Jacksonville for another couple of years, though. So for now, that game is staying put.
Florida’s non-conference schedule is also essentially inverted in 2025. The Florida Gators will host the Miami Hurricanes in 2024, and will travel to Miami to face the Canes in 2025. Florida is also set to host Florida State to conclude the season in 2025, after traveling to Tallahassee in 2024 for a road game against the Seminoles.
In addition, Florida will also play home games against Florida A&M and South Florida, the latter of which concludes a three-legged series with the Bulls. Florida played USF in Tampa in 2021 before hosting the Bulls the following season.
It’s somewhat disappointing to not play any new teams in 2025, but with all the rumblings of a nine-game SEC slate coming soon (possibly in 2026?), those desires feel likely to be quenched sooner rather than later.
