Florida didn’t exactly have the nation’s best offense last year. What Jim McElwain did have was one special talent at the wide receiver position who could be counted on to make things happen. As you probably know by now, either from the title or by process of elimination, that man is Antonio Callaway.
Whether on special teams, wide receiver, or yes, even at quarterback (FEAR THE UNDERHAND THROW!) Callaway was a threat that no team could underestimate. He became the first Gator to return multiple punts for touchdowns in the same season since Brandon James did it in 2008, and even more impressive, he did it at LSU’s Death Valley at night and in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama- two of college football’s biggest stages. He also caught the game winning touchdown pass from Will Grier against Tennessee, and by “caught,” I mean “caught a quick pass over the middle, wheeled around, and outran everybody to the end zone.”
There are high hopes for Callaway going forward. Maybe the things you’re about to see on this highlight video will explain why.
