The Gator basketball team pulled Zyon Pullin, which is Golden.
Todd Golden and the Florida Gator basketball team has added yet another big time transfer. And this one may be the biggest of them all. On Wednesday, ESPN reported that former UC Riverside guard Zyon Pullin committed to Florida.
Zyon Pullin averaged 18.3 points per game last season for the Highlanders, as well as 4.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. Beyond just the raw statistics, another major plus about Pullin is his ability to drive in the paint while also shooting nearly 40% from three-point range.
Pullin picked the Gators over multiple big time schools such as Michigan, Gonzaga, LSU, and Xavier. Naturally, any time you win a prospect over those schools, it’s a big deal, and the talent is there to justify that hype. Pullin adds depth and versatility to the Gators backcourt while also creating one of the best one-two punches with an already star in Riley Kugel.
This pick up wasn’t particularly a surprise, but still feels good nonetheless, especially after the misses in the portal last cycle. Gators head coach Todd Golden knows UC Riverside coach Mike Magpayo well from their time at Columbia. That likely helped Golden land Pullin.
Zyon Pullin joins an already talented Gator transfer class of EJ Jarvis (PF), Walter Clayton Jr (PG), Tyrese Samuel (PF), and seven-footer Micah Handlogten (C).
Welcome to Gator Nation, Zyon. I’m sure you’ll fit right in.
