Billy Napier continues to build his 2024 coaching staff with experienced veterans.
Per Jacob Rudner and 247Sports, Florida is set to hire Dan Enos to an off-field position. The role is said to include a focus on scouting and head coach projects (whatever that means).
Dan Enos was last seen as the offensive coordinator for the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2023, a role he was fired from eight games into the season after the Hogs failed to reach the end zone against Mississippi State. However, Enos does have a lot of success on his resume before that.
He spent the previous two years as the offensive coordinator at Maryland, the latter season of which saw the Terrapins rank fourth in the Big Ten with 401.2 yards of total offense per game. In his first season in 2021, led by quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland’s offense set all kinds of program records. These included 5,740 total yards of offense, 3,960 yards of passing offense, and Tagovaila breaking the individual school single-season record with 3,860 passing yards.
His prior stop wasn’t so successful. Enos spent the 2019 season as the offensive coordinator for a struggling Miami Hurricane offense under Manny Diaz. He was not invited back the ensuing season.
But Dan Enos did have success as the Arkansas offensive coordinator in his first stint, from 2015-2017. Arkansas was one of just two FBS programs with a 3,000 yard passer and a 1,300 yard rusher in both 2015 and 2016.
While Enos is expected to serve in an off-field role for Florida, he’s nevertheless the latest addition to a new-look Gator staff. Russ Callaway was promoted to the role of co-offensive coordinator a few days ago, and Florida has a slew of new position coaches on the other side of the ball, including Gerald Chatman on the defensive line and Will Harris in the secondary.
