Looks like the Gators’ latest QB change will last beyond the game in which it began.
Jim McElwain announced on Paul Finebaum’s show that Luke Del Rio will start for the Gators against Vanderbilt this Saturday. The Gators have beaten Vandy three straight times, and prior to their home loss to the Commodores in 2013, had not lost to them since 1988.
Del Rio replaced the struggling Feleipe Franks in the second half against Kentucky, and though he struggled initially, bounced back to lead Florida to consecutive touchdowns on the final two drives of the game. Del Rio also started much of 2016, and posted a 5-1 record as a starter.
