The Gators have lost their first real on-the-fence player to the pros.
Florida safety Marcell Harris will forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft. Harris missed the entire 2017 season with a torn right Achilles‘ tendon.

Harris started in eight games at safety two years ago, playing in thirteen. During the 2016 season 73 tackles, including four for loss, a sack, two picks, a pass defended, a QB hurry, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also notched a scoop n score career off a fumbled punt against FSU.
The loss also hurts from an experience perspective. Harris appeared in 37 games in his career, and was expected to anchor the defensive backfield last year before his injury. Many thought he would come back to do so in 2018, too, but now it’s become clear that won’t be the case.
Good luck, Marcell.
