The day I resurrected this site, I made a promise to bring y’all something that no other Gator blog had, and give us at IAKOW a way to distinguish ourselves. Well, I’m about to make good on that promise.
I’m proud to introduce a series called #GatorGreats. Over the next few weeks, Nick Joost and I will be interviewing various former Gator football stars to get us fans through the home stretch of the offseason. The interviews will consist of two main parts. First, we’ll take a walk down memory lane with the players and have them relive their greatest moments as Gators, and then we’ll talk about the current Gators team.
Included in the list of Gator football alums who have graciously agreed to participate are: Jacquez Green, Damien Jacobs, Ciatrick Fason and Reidel Anthony (and more). Last year, you guys got a taste of this with my similar feature on Brandon James. In addition, I’m in the process of setting up a date and time to talk to incoming defensive tackle recruit Khairi Clark.
Also, I just accepted a job as the featured college football writer for StandingOSports, which will be the first time in my life I’ve ever covered general college football, so I’m excited about that. If you want to read my takes on general college football, head on over to SOS and read me there as well. I’ll continue blogging on everything Gators here.
Anyway, keep your eyes peeled in the coming days and weeks for some awesome stuff, like the #GatorGreats series as well as more game by game previews for Florida’s 2014 season. And I believe Joey Vizzi has something coming soon as well. In the meantime, let’s see if we can get #GatorGreats trending among Gator fans on twitter, and spread the word to those who don’t tweet as much that this awesome feature is coming.
