The younger brother of former Clemson star Travis Etienne, Trevor declared his decision to play at Florida in a pregame announcement before the All-American Bowl. A consensus four star from Jennings, LA, Etienne chose Florida over his hometown school in LSU and his brother’s alma mater of Clemson. He’ll officially enroll at Florida in time for fall practice.
In addition to his three finalists, Etienne also had offers from pretty much all the other big names in college football, including both combatants in Monday night’s national championship (Alabama and Georgia), Auburn, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Mississippi.

The athleticism jumps off the screen right away. Trevor Etienne also plays basketball for Jennings High School, and you can see that raw natural talent in action every time he touches the ball. He’s got quick feet and can change directions instantaneously, and while his incredible speed and agility advantages displayed on that tape are going to be obviously reduced when he makes the move from Louisiana Class 3A to the SEC, he’s still plenty fast enough to hit a hole before it closes. And he’s naturally athletic enough to be used as a receiver in the passing game if Billy Napier chooses to utilize him in this way.
The other impressive trait about Trevor Etienne is his sheer muscle mass. Despite only standing 5’9, Etienne weighs 218 pounds. That’s almost all muscle, by the way, and you see plenty of that on his high school highlights as well. A few months in Florida’s strength program should only heighten that advantage.
As for the timeline, it’s a weird one, but then given Florida’s coaching transition, of course it is.
Florida was actually the second Power 5 school to offer him, way back in May of 2020. There was a clear mutual interest while Dan Mullen was still in charge, and after a visit to Gainesville last summer, he placed Florida in his top five, along with LSU, Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia. He took an unofficial visit to Gainesville for Florida’s regular season-ending win over FSU in the height of the coaching transition, and by all accounts, enjoyed himself.
Then Napier was hired, running backs coach Jabbar Juluke came over with him from Louisiana, and the relationship between the school and the player went from “solid” to “this is the move.” Immediately after Napier announced Juluke as the new running backs coach, Trevor Etienne scheduled another visit to Gainesville- this one being an official visit- next weekend, but decided not to wait any longer to announce.
And thus, with the college football world watching, he committed to Florida at the All-American Bowl. So, welcome, Trevor!
