Florida’s premiere recruiting event, Friday Night Lights, is coming up this Friday (of course). It’s one of the most coveted recruiting events in the country, and naturally, there’s going to be an insane amount of talent on display.
The most notable of the attendees is wide receiver Binjimen Victor. He has tremendous big play ability and could make an impact in Gainesville immediately if he becomes a Gator. His agreement to attend Friday Night Lights was a recent one (great job, Jake Allen), and it adds to an already loaded group of receivers who will be in attendance, including Sam Bruce, Cavin Ridley, Freddie Swain, Trevon Grimes and Velus Jones.
I’m not really expecting any flips, but if there’s going to be one, it’s likely Bruce. Committing to Miami seems to be a rite of passage these days for top recruits in the Sunshine State, he has a lot of friends and teammates who are currently committed to Florida, and… well, Florida’s a better program.
The position to watch, other than obviously the insanely talented group of receivers on display, is the QB group. It’s time to see highly touted QB Jake Allen in action for the first time as a Florida Gator commit. He’s drawn a lot of buzz since pulling the trigger, and now he has a chance to validate that buzz. In addition to Allen, the camp will host a couple of QB’s committed elsewhere in Zerrick Cooper (Clemson) and Tylin Oden. I expect Cooper to earn an official offer, and there’s a solid chance Oden does, too.
