January 8, 2007: Florida defeats Ohio State 41-14 for the national championship.
January 2, 2012: Florida defeats Ohio State 24-17, giving the Buckeyes their first losing season in almost a century.
Today: Florida defeats Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ most prized recruit, Jerome Baker.
So, yeah, Buckeye fans, enjoy our former coach all you want.
Baker, a 4 star linebacker recruit from Cleveland, snubbed his hometown Buckeyes and Volunteers in favor of the Gators. He’d long been considered an Ohio State lean, and according to the boys at 247, was a sure thing to wind up at Ohio State. But that’s why it’s so great to have Ryan B. on my side:
Tomorrow is decision time for prized LB Jerome Baker (@Lastname_Baker). Gut feeling: he shocks the #Buckeyes & picks the #Gators. Let's see!

Anyway, Baker is considered an athlete by many, but he’s likely to play linebacker for Florida. This is why the loss of Baker really hurts Ohio State, not just because he snubbed the locals in favor of the guys who’ve given them pure hell lately, but because linebacker is a position of need for them. On the other side of that coin, he figures to fit right in to Muschamp’s aggressive defensive scheme.
So, welcome Mr. Baker!
