Look at what winning on the field can do. The recruits just keep coming.
The catch this time is consensus four star defensive end Antonneous Clayton, from Vienna, GA. But the “four star rating” doesn’t do him justice. Clayton’s offer list is absolutely massive; among them are: Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Michigan, Tennessee, FSU, LSU, Notre Dame, Auburn and Baylor. He was thought by some to be an Auburn lean, but pulled the trigger today via a twitter announcement:
had a great ride and I wanna thank all coaches for recruiting, but I decided to commit to university of Florida

Clayton’s physical attributes are pretty good. He stands 6’4, 215 and runs a 4.75 40 yard dash. Even more impressive, however, is his tape. He possesses a pure explosive first step off the snap and lightning quick reflexes, both of which help explain why he’s always making plays when presented an opportunity to make one. He’s a little raw in some techniques, but he doesn’t have any weaknesses that aren’t coachable. If he bulks up just a little bit and improves on little things, like his initial punch into the offensive lineman and consistently getting good pad level, he could be an instant contributor when he arrives next year.
Geoff Collins gets the credit for this one. Collins is Florida’s primary recruiter in the northern direction (meaning the southeastern states aside from Florida), and now he’s got his third pickup in the last three months. Safety Quincy Lenton (Meridian, MS) and linebacker Jeremiah Moon (Hoover, AL) both committed to Florida within a day of each other this past July. So good work Collins north of the border. Keep it up.
And of course, welcome to the Gator Nation, Antonneous Clayton.
