Georgia hate week is officially upon us, my Gator brethren. And while I’ve got something special saved up to culminate the week the Gator Nation is sure to spend tossing well timed barbs at Georgia fans, I figured I had to start it off with a bang, too.
Georgia fans may own the all time series lead, 49-41, but the only reason they have that lead is because of the wins they racked up in the roaring 20’s. Florida has owned the series since then, and has been particularly dominant since 1990; the Gators have won 19 of the last 25 games over Georgia, including seven by 30 points or more. And of Georgia’s six outlier wins, four of them were one-possession final margins.
So since we’ve quickly established that the stats favor Florida over the last quarter century, let’s see just how much the tape does, too, and allow “Georgia hate week” to begin with an extensive Gator highlight reel in the Florida-Georgia rivalry:
