As we all know, Florida takes on LSU tomorrow night in Baton Rouge in a top ten showdown.
What some may not know is that the Gators actually have a pretty good history playing at LSU’s Death Valley, having won 11 of the last 17 games there. Most of that history dates back before many can remember, but there is one recent example that comes particularly close to matching the scenario we’ll see tomorrow night- the 2009 game. This was also a top ten showdown, at night, and a game that saw much of its buildup center around the Gators’ QB position (obviously for different reasons). But what makes it most relevant is the fact that the stingy Florida defense buckled down and silenced the LSU offense to lead the Gators to a huge victory- and the Florida QB did what he had to do to win the game (of course, that QB was Tim Tebow).
In the hopes that such history will repeat itself tomorrow night, I present to you that complete 2009 Florida-LSU game, condensed to 15 minutes.
